Egg batches and Spanwing cycles

so i been looking for the answer to these questions... What do you all say?

1) How long in between eggs when they are spawning? I know they will eat the fry so how long before they lay again assuming the water conditions are the same and tank environment are the same?

2) I have read that they have only a few egg cycles per year... is that right too ? How long does the cycle last???

So what im really trying to find out is a time line.... So since they only have few spawning cycles per year.... and assuming they eat their drring these few cycles per year, you can be waiting 3-4 years for them to get to their 5th and 6th batches before they start to get it right? really? wow!

Is that accurate?

They often lay every week, give or take a few days, for 8 or 10 spawns, perhaps more. They may take a break after that that may last for months before they go into another cycle. It varies from pair to pair.
