Purchased these: http://www.aquabid.com/cgi-bin/auction/auction.cgi?filteration&1267979644 for my AC110's. They fit perfect and are a nice size and fairly priced. So if anyone is looking for a good pre-filter sponge, these are a good choice.

I purchased a few of these prefilters from this seller on AB a couple years ago. They still work great! I'm not sure of the exact PPI, but they are close to the original hydro sponge filters (not the more porous pro models), maybe a little more dense than the hydros.

Do you know if it will work with the AC70 ? Do they only come in white ? or black as well ?

This is not quite so pretty but they make a lot of pre-filters for $3.

I cut to size and they fit nicely on both my AC 70's and AC 110's.

Cut to size and slice a small X in the top and slide on.

Trim the edges and you'll make it exactly like the one from aquabid, lol. I think I might carve a snowman out of mine.

I think it is. If anything I believe you can just boil it in hot water just to be safe.
