Hi all,
Its been brought to my attention that those of you that ship livestock by airplane may need to re-new your " Known Shipper status " due to security regulations. They will not tell you ahead of time...you may find out when you actually are at the airport trying to ship a cargo out.

I know of at least one case so far where both South west and Delta have done this to the same shipper at the same time..

This re-certification requires inspection of your facility again according to what I have been told.

Again...Regulations may have changed at the airports..talk to your reps and verify things at your airport.

I'm passing this along as I would hate for a shipment going out to someone to have issues unexpectedly.

If anyone can confirm this info here, please do so.

Thanks,
al

Thanks for the heads-up, Al. I'm not a shipper, well, not yet, maybe never, but I'm curious as to what's required for somebody like me (an infrequent shipper) to ship with the Airlines, Fedex or UPS- any pointers?

Thanks, guys!

Just got a letter in the mail from SWA and what Al is stating is true.

"Due to a recent change in TSA requirements, SWA must revalidate all of our customers as Known Shippers. We regret to inform you that you are unable to ship on your account until this revalidation process is complete."

To be honest, I dont ship that often and I have other means of shipping if necessary, so i'll most likely let my SWA account close. Oh well.
