Hi all, I just bought an older Fluval 303. What kind of filter media do you use in your Fluval canister? Thank you....:D

All you need is bio media...

I use all ceramic rings in them. Works great!

Best wishes!

Filter floss for mechanical and poreous ceramic cylinders or balls for biological filtration. No need for activated carbon.

I use foam pads in the front and ceramic rings in the baskets.

If I had a fluval, it would be straight sponges and/or bio balls all the way (no ceramic rings).

I just bought the bio rings and this is for a cascade not a Fluval, there are 2 trays in the canister. Would the rings go on the bottom or the top tray?
