I have an Ehein 2080 on my 110 gal tank. I have cleaned it to no end and now its humming loudly. I have taken it apart about 10 times and nothing works. Thoughts or advice Jerry

How old is the filter?

Is the humming a constant tone or is it intermittent and slightly abrasive?

At three years old its possible the motor is failing or it could be an impaler issue.

May just be due to the luck of the draw. I bought a new Eheim 1260 pump for my wet/dry filter. Within a week of ownership, the hum could be felt/heard in that half of the house. The hum from the pump was a major reason I dismantled my wet/dry filter. Having just spent a mini-fortune on the Eheim, I did not feel like taking another chance on another pump.

Like the owner of my LFS said, Eheim does not make them like they used to. She is always on the lookout for older classics (before they were called classics). Those were built like tanks. I have one from about 20 years ago. If it weren't for the noise from the spraybar, I cannot tell that it's on.
