discus vertical stripes

i have couple snake skins dat i bout from 2"
now they're about 3-3.5"
i was wondering wen will the vertical stripes disappear or will they ever?
i read some articles about them, and it said that they'll disappear within time...
if so, i was wondering how long?

I think it depends on the particular lineage, the individual fish, and also their mood and environment.

Unless we're talking about blue diamonds, snow whites, or something like that, no 2 discus are marked exactly alike, which is part of why they're so interesting... The only way to know for sure how yours will turn out is to take care of 'em, see what happens when they grow up...
