My father-in-law sent me a picture from the Georgia Aquarium, and I couldn't quite pick what it is (plus it looks a little sickly to me) My guess is a wild blue, a very stressed wild blue.

Doesn't look like a wild blue to me - looks more like a colbalt and you're right, it does look stressed.

Wild blues often look more like fancy brown discus. Take a look at this webpage for some wild blue discus.
(I've removed the URL until we find out if it is a malicious attack site)

Hope that helps,

I thought Cobalt is a domestic breed variant. Man I'm trying to learn all the strains and colors! It's a TON to remember.

I should call the aquarium "Yes, I've recieved a image of one of your discus, he is stressed and underfed, would you kindly provide proper care to the fish"

Also, that site is being reported as a "attack site" Anyone else get those warnings?

Yeah, Id say its a cobalt, which is a domestic..but Ive seen pictures from Georgia Aquarium before and apparently they have several domestic..vs. the tennessee that only has wilds..( wilds that stay hidden so you can't see them)

Here are some photos of some colbalts from the Stendker website:

The wild blue is Symphysodon Aequifasciatus Haraldi - you can find some more photos doing a google search on that. There is a list of strains on the forum here:

Hope that helps,
