hey guys, i'm far from breeding but i got a question:

Will discus pair up only in ideal breeding conditions, or will they pair off and only spawn in ideal conditions. I see two of my discus swimming together a lot and was wondering if its a pair.

They will pair up, lay and fertilize in water that is not conducive to the eggs hatching. They will go through all that plus the fanning of eggs. Once they realize that the eggs will not hatch (they always know) they will eat them all up.

If they prefer oneanother to the other Discus and hang out together a lot, chances are they're a pair.
