my discus swim away ?

my two discus swim away and hide when i walk up to my tank or walk by it , but when i sit near them on my couch they always look at me ! is there a reason this happends ?

it seem like they are not use to you yet mine come up every time someone goes close to the tank ecen when the kids are jumpin around give them time and when you go to the tank give them a treat so they think when someone goes there the will get something sweet

Once they figure out that the giant person approaching the tank means food, they will come to the front of the tank waiting for food.

Is this a confirmed breeding pair? If not, discus feel secure in groups of at least six. Have they always behaved like this? How long have you had them?

there not a breading pair
i have had them for 3 or 4 months , i put drift wood in my tank two weeks ago and ever since then they hide behind it .
i am getting more discus , when i can find some i like. there are not that many breeders where i live. so its hard to find ones i like
