Does the tank have overflow boxes in it?

I would use the holes drilled and run stand pipes to the the top of the tank using bulk heads and pvc.A picture would help out tremendously to help figure this out with ya.Its not impossible just need to see what you have.

You could make an overflow with a swing pipe so it would be adjustable, or you could an overflow similar to this...

55221 this is the back of the 150 gal with the 2-2 inc holes on right side and the 1-2 inc hole on left hole.what is the best way to go about this sump thing.

Well, looks like you have an overflow box, so that makes it easy, You can just cap off the top bulkhead, and the lower bulkhead that is outside the overflow box. You can put a standpipe on the lower bulkhead inside the box to act as your drain to the sump.

Could you post a better picture? Like a top view and the view from inside the tank to the overflow? From what I could make so far, the bulkheads inside the overflow box should drain into the sump while the pump (in the sump) should return the water through the bulkhead that is outside the overflow box.

Yes, but if the pump quits, or you lose power, the tank will drain back through the pump, overflowing the sump, and make one hellva mess. You could put a check valve on it, but then you will be totally relying on a check valve to keep the water in the tank when you unplug the pump. I would cap that bulkhead outside the box, and the top one in the box, and pipe the water back at the top of the tank, split it, and have two returns.
