so I have a question for the experts and its going to be a bit wordy. :)

I will post my pics again of my three discus. I did not intend for three just how it worked out, lost my proven male so I am not sure if all of these are females or not? My other post Hans, Eddie and some others thought all three were females so that may or may not be the case. Here is whats confusing me.

Originally all three were in the same tank. I put a clay pot in which the Green Turk and Ring leopard started cleaning together and shaking at each other. They both kept the Penang Eruption at the other end of the tank. I put in the poret foam divider and the Green turk badly beat up the Ring Leopard (torn fins, turned dark, clamped fins). So I took out the divider and let all three swim again together. At this point the Penang eruption and the Green turk now are beating up the Ring leopard so I had to give the RL time to recover from the original beating and put the PE and turk together on one side of the foam. These two fish together do not bother each other, they swim next to each other but show no signs of breeding behavior. The RL by itself has recovered and the other two seem just fine together except a majority of the time the Green Turk shows its bars.

I wonder if anyone can make a guess as to why I am seeing this behavior?
Here are some latest pics of my camera shy fish!!

Thanks Guys
David

RL healed up, bit of tears in the fins still.

I say get some more fish in there (if you have the tank space) and they will all be happy. Then if you see some pairing off, dont move them to a seperate tank untill they have established a bond and know how to protect the eggs together. Thats just what I have done and has worked for me. Im sure others will come with opinions soon.

Take care
