Depends on how often you feed and what you feed.

If I have 6 fish in the tank, and now showing a sign of a pair. Can I add more fish to stop the fish from fighting by the pair?

Not unless you want some of them killed or badly injured.

IMO your tank isn't large enough to hold more than the 6 you already have.
