Home depot here does not carry pool sand, but have this. it says good for fish bowls but need to confirm this first.

Yes, that should be fine. No matter if it says rinsed, always rinse the sand well prior to putting it in the tank.

I pretty sure thats finer than pool filter sand but I'd actually have to see it. :o Do you have an ACES hardware near you?
