In my likely to be hopeless battle against flukes, I found some tapeworms! I've only had these fish for around two months. Makes me think that a round of Prazi for fish from ALL sources, isn't such a bad idea.

Enjoy! Yum

all my fish were acquired through sponsors on simply. the red one from one sponsor... the snow white from another. What's interesting is that both ate like crazy and was/is completely healthy otherwise. this does not deter me from ordering more fish from the same sponsors. I'm actually planning on it soon.

oh also, she's super dark, but i assume that is because she's in heat. green background darkens all my fish in the tank too. she's been twitching and shaking all month and finally laid some eggs last week.

Nice, I have also started thinking along the same lines.

Also, a fish with tapeworms is generally not poorly affected unless they have burrowed into the internal organs. In some cases, fish with tapeworms actually grew larger than fish without.

Do you think the fish is eating more to compensate for the worm, causing it to grow more?

It might be, it was merely a study done on 2 seperate groups and the fish with tapes had more growth. :o
