Sorry no pic. But I was at the lfs getting some fish food and looked at the fish. They had 3 fish all were white body with blue fins and 2 had a kind of orange line that was on the body below the dorsal fin.

I have never seen such a fish. They might have had some peppering I could not get a good look because they were in a tank that was smashed in a dark corner. They were kind of like a white butterfly but not. Any ideas. I'm thinking of picking one up. Maybe a calico??

quarantine! thats a funny name for a discus color.

Yes I know to quarantine new fish. I have learned my lessen a few times. I also think its better for the fish to have some time to adjust with out stress of other fish.

Well I went back and got him. He is not show quality in fact he is kind of ugly. but should be a neat differant looking fish once he settles in. He seems healthy already eatting fins all up. He is some kind of Ghost because his eyes are silver with some red. I will get a photo in a little bit when he looks better.

Here is my ugly little fish. Sorry for the funky angles he was being shy. You get the Idea of what he looks like. He kind of looks dirty and I hope that peppering will fade once he is adjusted and but up to health. The Pigeon I got from the same place has colored up so well in just a month so I hope this guy does too.

He is about 2". One of the reasons I wanted him was I think he will be fun to grow out.

Google Rainbow Panda Discus. You will see some fish with white bodies and an orange line on the back with a yellow head like mine.

Thanks guys. One more question. He looks kind of dirty. Is it because he is stressed? should he brighten up and be more white once he settles in? or will he always look kind of dirt?

I would think a good diet and some growth will bring out alot more color as time goes. I bet he will have a red saddle eventually. I'm nbot familiar with this strain but maybe it is one that develops color later than others.:)

You might be able to contact Kraig (Kingdon Come Discus) on here he is a Simply sponsor and he is selling calico discus right now. He might be able to tell you more about them and what they will look like as adults.

It's a Gold Cap Ghost. Interesting fish that you don't see around much. The gold stripe isn't a GCG trait, but there is alot of diversity within the strain.

After looking at lots of photo and reading up on some. The Nebula Discus is what he has to be. They have the Red on the back blue in the fins. White body with a yellow head and red/silver eyes.

Here is a site all about this different strain.
