Maybe SD members can all chip in at $10 a head and place the tank at SD central - which is in Conneticut - then we can mount live cameras in it.

drop like 50 Discus in there!

Only 1000 gallons?

Not big enough for one of those monster fish I like to have.

8'x4'x4', a tad over 950 gal. by my calculations. Still a decent size. A tank that size would weigh a ton! It really doesn't look that big in the photo. :) I like this one better, a 2000 gal. custom Tenecor.

here's another thought. Can you imagine it NOT withstanding an earthquake..

I believe that water weighs about 7.5 pounds per gallon. When full, that tank weighs over 7,000 pounds or about 3.5 tons. Better have a good stand and an even better floor!

Oh yeah, absolutely. Anything other than a concrete floor supporting a steel stand would be a disaster waiting to happen.

I like the one in the picture you posted. Wonder how much that one goes for.

A couple of months back, on CL, there was a guy selling a 2x4x4 aquarium with stand for $900.

Even that one would require some serious foundational reinforcement.

I would have 1-2 rays or maybe some red head geos. Then a breeding pair of Hoplarchus psittacus with a school of heckle discus. Maybe some festivums for the top. I would try to fit a mango pleco in. The tank would have lots of wood maybe a tree. sand bottom with some floating plants. A sweet costom 3d background would be nice something that looks like roots. That's my dream tank.

And don't forget to add a school of 500 big fat cardinals. Now that would be my dream tank.

I'd throw my peacock bass in there, and let them run wild! They would think they were back in Peru! :D
