So I was about to do a cleaning of my tank and saw that my juvenile blue diamond had laid eggs. There were only about 20 of them and they did get eaten within the hour but I thought that was pretty odd for how small she is. Is that a bad thing or anything I should be concerned about? I know she's not stunted so it can't be that. She's probably about 4 inches right now from nose to tail

How do you know shes not stunted? How old is she? Pictures?

I don't know how old she is but I'm pretty sure she isn't stunted because she's been growing a lot in the past 2 months.

Juvenile discus do not lay eggs. The term juvenile is related to age and not size. Your Blue Diamond would be at least 9 months old but most Blue Diamonds take longer to mature, between 15-24 months. Regardless, a 9 months old fish is not a juvenile so its impossible for your egg laying Blue Diamond to be a juvenile. :o

Would a 6-7 month old discus be referred to as a juvenile?

Your BD could be as young/old as 12 months. That's the age my Hans BD (male) started spawning at.

I'd say its getting into sub adult stage by 7 months.
