id confirmation please

i got 2 fish in my group that are both supposed to be red turqs. but they both l;ook completely different.

1 looks like this which im happy is red turq

but the other is much more blue like this

can there really be that much variation in 1 strain or is the last 1 a cross or even something completely different?

The first IMO is a red checkerboard Turk. The second is a blue snakeskin turk

They do look like turqs, first one could pass for a checkerboard turq. Kind of has similarities to an Eruption Leopard. The second fish looks alot like a Leopard, there are no actual striations, more like spots. Its not a snakeskin for sure. Can you take a picture with the flash?

I like pic 2 best, it look like a stunner, but when the real shape is revealed in pic 3, I scrolled up and down a couple of times lol.

You bought them from D.Lai yes? I remember seeing something similar on another forum?

thanks for the replies . i was thinking maybe blue turq but didnt think they had so much red?

eddie i cant do any flash photos at the moment as my camera is bust , i got my mate to take these pics for me . the bummer is that i have got a gorgeous 6 to 6.5 inch leopard , which was sulking when he came round

thats right discuskev they cam from david lai , about 5 months ago. its a shame the bigger blue one has a bit of a "beaky" face . but i can live with it for now as i really like its colour .

Ditto. My first thought was that they are likely from the same spawn from RT parents, therefor all are being sold as RT's.

im already planning on selling this group in the spring and getting a better group. this time round i know more what im looking for , where as this being my 1st ever group i got overwhelmed by all the colours on display and made my selection on that mopre than shape etc

GL, if I recall properly, you said you wanted to sell and buy a new group already correct? If you done so already, it seems like you can't aren't one that is satisfied :D If so, buy show quality fish, you'll at least like them for more than 1 year lol...

lol kev nope this is still my 1st group altho yes i did post a while ago that i wanted to improve my stock. my next group is planned for some time in the spring ( neatly coincides with my tax return lol) . this group will be either top quality domestics , or wilds .
