How much powdered Safe ingredient should I use for a 50% partial water change on my 125 Gallon Auqarium?

.5 (1/2 teaspoon) x 62.5 (50% of 125 gallon) = 31.25
31.25 / 50 (gallons of water) = .625 or 5/8 teaspoon of Safe.

Or if you want to weigh it out for removing chlorine 100mg per 15 gallons of water

100 x 62.5 = 6250
6250 / 15 = 416.6 mg of Safe

Tito, as some others do, I always treat the entire tank volume. Most times I am making an excess of 75% of the tank volume anyways. As said, I do overdose it a bit, but better safe than sorry(no pun intended)...Bill

Have you looked into whether you even need Safe? You could save a bunch of money there if you really don't need it.

- If all you have is chlorine, you can just age the old fashion way.

- If you have chloramine, but your water has normal to low pH, you don't need to worry about the ammonia because it turns into ammonium. You can save a boatload by using pool de-chlorinators instead of Safe or Prime.
