Need an opinion-what is this??

doing a water change and noticed this on my HBBD. What is this, heater burn? Chem burn?? Scrape from driftwood? It wasn't there this morning. further info is I use safe as my conditioner

It looks like a heater burn.......otherwise acting normal? Hate that....Surprises during WC.

what I thought, but needed confirmation. yes. acts normal. will keep eye on it to make sure it doesn't progress and if so will treat accordingly.

Looks like a scrape, heater burns are far from frequent. No fish will sit there and get burned. The fish would have to get SUPERBLY stuck between the glass and heater and you could probably count that not happening. LOL

Thanks Eddie, It went away as fast as it appeared?? Weird? Not possible for him to get stuck behind heater. I have driftwood back in tank though.

I'd put my money on the fish darting and scraping itself on the wood. ;)
