Don't know the reason, I guess it is the season but I was thinking of old friends today so I wrote this little quiz. Should be easy for the old timers. If you know who I am talking about, then just post that you do without naming names. Hopefully it will bring a smile to your face.

Today I got to thinking about a bygone old coot
He was full of wisdom but also known to stretch the truth.
Now if you needed advice on the meaning of life
or maybe how to win an Egyptian knife fight
then brother he was your man
and he did not care if you were a fan.
He was quick to offer his advice without concern
some would say he just didn’t give a dern.
But I would have to disagree with their assessment
because he was all about discus advancement.
Unlike so many other here on the internet
he gained his discus knowledge while holding a net.
In his later years and with failing health
his only concerns were good debates and spreading the wealth.
So here is thinking of you good buddy
when you got to heaven I hope the waters were not too muddy.

I have not been around all that long but I stumbled onto an old post from Hans today making reference to "Feed them to the Roses" and the person linked to this statement. He sounded like a colorful guy.:D

Yea I should have made a reference to the roses but it slipped my mind. I find that the older that I get the more I think about old friends. And colorful does not begin to describe the man...LOL.

Bittersweet smile, though. I waited too long to visit his part of California, unfortunately.

Every time he is mentioned I am just sorry I came on the boards after he left us. I always feel like I missed something (alot). Thanks to you old timers for sticking around and teaching me how to improve my roses.
