Way overstocked. I would drop the guppies. They can only carry diseases and infect your discus.

sounds good, But how will betta be with other fish.. Really I'm not familiar with whether the females fight??? the cards are up to you but they are bigger than neons. Another choice for tetras is the black neon.. It's quite striking in person and large. Keep up wc's and filter cleaning.

I kept my male betta with 6 juvenile discus and he was fine. He 'snuggled' with the discus when they were scared (water changes). He chased them away at first, but once they got bigger he left them alone.

That also depends... different fish have their own personalities. I think our betta is a lot more subdued than most.

I think the females -can- be aggressive but tend to be (in general) be less aggressive, so it might work. Although I've read in other forums that people think my betta will become picked on a lot once the discus are adults.

Currently my betta is by himself in a 75G though because I moved all my discus to a 75G bare bottom to maximize growth.

Should of asked. What size discus are you getting?

If you are getting cories, I suggest at least 10. They school really well if 10 or more and very cool to watch. I don't think cories will add too much to the bio load.
