Man I have been keeping discus for so long but I still get excited when something new happens! Got home tonight after a pain in the butt day with the snow and all, to find these two laying in their tank...female laying, male covering...now I have seen this so many times with so many fish that sometimes you forget how awesome this is!
This is a pair of pink albinos, gorgeous fish, on the smaller side but round and 100% pink, a beautiful thing to see swimming in your house, now I get to be 100% sure they are a true pair with two genders, let's hope the eggs take!

Rod, can you post natural light pics? I've never seen PINK discus.
Thanks

These are taken with colormax bulbs like all my tanks, they do have a pink tint to them, now the water is tainted blue so I will not take any additional pictures for color, once I clear the water I will post pictures with white light for all you all! :)

Looking good Rod! All the best with them. I like the bulbs like the Gro-Lux bulbs that have the pink/red hue. Compliments most red/blue based fish. Not the best light to bring out yellows, or greens in a planted tank tho...Bill

and to be clear I know you said pink albino. still never heard of. Guess I'm wondering genetic makeup:)

I think, and Bob can jump in here, they are Albino Red Whites, when properly fed and under the right light they get the pink tint to them, make for gorgeous fish! Just like any other discus, color is dependent on food and light, as well as environment.

These discus are Albino Red Whites which we acquired from Leo (Roundfish) Ross via Mike Beals of Central Ohio Discus. Their true color is pink but will darken when stressed and Im assuming they will darken when they tend to fry. Rod has two pairs with him and I have three more here with me hoping to get another pair from. Another pink strain we are still working with are Wayne NG Red Spotted Pinks which are also Pink Albinos that will darken when stressed.
Hey Rod, how are those eggs looking ? Any turned white this morning ?

Let's hold the wetness my friend! No short circuits allowed!!! :)
As of now we have pairs of Ogon Yellows, Penang Eruptions, Albino Platinums, Albino Red Whites (these pinks), and Albino 3r2 from Wayne (also pinnk). Waiting for a new pair from Hans (where are they HANS! Hint, hint!).
Bob, we have four white eggs this morning but I have been down this road before so we'll see what happens before we get too excited! The pair is agressively protecting the cone, always a good sign for me!

Rod the Wayne NG Discus are not Albino 3R2's. They are Wayne NG Red Pupil Spotted Pinks from Dan Espinosa which is one of his albino strains. This is one very hard strain to acquire as I have been trying for about a year now to get a few more.

Well folks, no go...got home to mostly white eggs and woke up to a clean cone...a couple of good signs, both parents covered the eggs and guarded the sizeable clutch...they also cleaned the cone on their own so they kknow they didn't take...oh well, there is always next week...

DiscusLover65, IM HURTING FOR WRIGGLERS !!! The fry dont last long around here. We sell out quick. Im currently tending to a whopping 6 Ogon Yellows. Im looking forward to raising some of those Pink fry somewhere down the road. It may take a few try's and Im very optimistic that they will get it right soon as they are showing very good parental skills to this point.

Dont get me wrong there has been ALOT of fry but every time a batch is put up for sale they are usually gone within two weeks. Rod's doing a great job and the local discus nuts appreciate it and keep coming back for more.
