I decided to ask the experts and tons of breeders rather than my lfs. I want to know what you guys think of these discus which I bought about 2 weeks ago. Do you think they are good quality discus are they stunted? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think they are lovely. I particularly like the white one... In my opinion they don't look stunted, they still look a little young... Just keep their water clean and feed them a well balanced diet and you should see some growth.

They look young. I would say you can definitely get them to a nice size as long as you keep up with water changes and feedings.

dont look stunted to me, not show shape on them or anything, but perfectly average fish, no stunting seen from me!
how long where they at the LFS... that may give you alittle insight, as to the care they were lacking/recieved..

All the good stuff can be found in quality flake/pellets/BH mix.

I think a lot of people dose their BH mix with calcium supplements. I use a Tums and that doesn't seem to have any ill effects on mine. I think Calcium Citrate is the best form though b/c it's water soluble.
One of the recipes on this site also has baby powder in it. That has a lot of calcium although I haven't tried using it before.
