Is it usually best to leave potted plants in the pots, I recently purchased a beautiful Amazon Sword, dwarf grass plants & wendtii, the roots in all of them are out growing the pots?

I used to leave them in but had no luck keeping them alive. I have taken them out and planted them in my gravel and they are doing great. I don't do anything extra for them except long periods of light.

Thanks, I think I'll do the same, maybe I'll put some fertilizer tabs in with them!

I too have purchased all my plants in pots. Swords, pennywart, ect. Put some tank water in a bucket, cut the plastic pot to the bottom, seperate the pot from the roots, rinse the roots off and plant in tank. I use Seachem Flourish Root Tabs for all my plants. Doing great
