Spammers alert

HI all,
Lately many Forums have been getting hit with Spammers, we have seen more than our share as well... Seems they have found a way around the software measures in place to keep them out.. TO combat this I literally try and go thru all new members requests manually and try to flag them...but its alot of work.... and not 100% accurate at times. So what does this mean to you?

You may see spammers here from time to time. If you do, please report that thread ASAP. Theres a Tool for that included in this forums software...Its located here in the lower left hand corner of the post... Use this report tool and it sends a message to all moderators and admins that this a thread is a problem.

Btw, you can also use this feature when you see a thread thats not spam but is something that you think needs attention.

Thanks for your help with this everyone. I'll do my best to keep this junk off the forum and Ryan is looking at software solutions currently...but I could use all of your vigilance as well.

One other note....IF you are a new member waiting for approval...Theres an off chance you might get deleted by accident or there may be a delay. If you need to get online here ASAP for Disease board help.... PM me...I can fast track your account as can any Admin here. You can pm them even if not an approved member... I'll try and keep this down to a minimum, but if you saw how much spam accounts are signing up, its gotten to be a real hassle weeding thru them.

Al speaks the truth, the spammers are the worse I've seen in a very long time, and it's almost like they are going after Vbulletin forums primarily. I was speaking to another forum admin at a meeting this evening that was saying how bad it was on his forums as well.

Hopefully it will stop soon...

Thanks everyone that has been watching and reporting the spammers... I could describe these lowlife spammers alot more colorfully, but we'll leave it at that. About the same time Keith, but unfortunately when a spammer hits your account and gets approved, they may not actually spam you for days after..so we'll see some residual I am sure over the next week. At this point I am hopeful that we'll knock them out before they even get in...fingers crossed and I'll know better in am.

Well so far so good, Looks like things have settled down now and the software is filtering out the spammers once again..Still, please be vigilant everyone and flag any posts that look like spam, porn, commercial BS etc.
