I read the eye size sticky in the university section by pcsb23 and if I understand it correctly, a size under 1/7 indicates stunted growth.

If a fish is 2 or 3 inches and has a 1/5 eye size, will this ratio remain as it grows or can it increase if it is raised in a clean food-rich environment from that point on until its full grown?

As the fish grows, the eye to body ratio can change and improve. ( it can also get worse with inadequate care) ... It depends on the genetics of the fish in question and the husbandry ... so with a clean food rich environment... improvements can occur,but..again the genetics plays a big role.... a particular fish can have the best care in the world and have poor shape and poor growth if thats all it is capable of.

Thats sad....

I got 6 from LFS and I hope they turn out good from my care. I think that they will be decent. No footballs and bug eyes. :)
