peppering?

So my tank has a black background, and i'd like to have the substrate be dark as well... but i'm nervous about peppering. Just getting back into discus, and as i recall it was only certain strains of discus that really pepper? Or is that incorrect information? I was thinking of going with either BD's or Turqs in this tank.. but am open to other suggestions as well..

Pigeon Blood types get the peppering(orange stains). Your blue fish will get darker though in a dark tank. Blue diamonds look much nicer in a lighter colored tank.

only discus that holds the Pigeon blood gene will carry peppering...
