It's a "Rocket Filter", marketed by Joe Gargas-

I've never used 'em...

Like a traditional box filter, except water comes in from the bottom. Good idea, but you could make them from the same plumbing parts yourself much cheaper. No offense to Joe. :D

I have seen it before just wasnt sure if it was any good. I was waiting on some reviews to come out to see what people say.
Wendy

How could you be sold on something you never used, simply for the looks? ;)

It does look kinda interesting and may have a use in a breeding tank, if it doesn't pull the fry into the filter.

I asked joe about the fry and i will see if he will come on and tell us more. I know he is very busy guy with his state of the art shipping on his fish for FREE. The new ram he has got looks very promising also.

Nice fancy looking filter, but one thing that will stop me from using it would be it is insufficient that it cannot pickup or attract many floating particals..Those little slits in the bottom will clog too fast to be any real help...sorry, I think it is a very poor design, escpecially for discus..

I like the good old sponge filter, nothing beats it. Cheap and INSANE bio-filtration for its size.

I never used it, but I do use box filters in some of my tanks. Looks like it would double as a spawning site as well. I would try one...Bill

I like the fact that it is basically all white, and less likely to atract young fry. I would try one too, but while the cost of the filter is ok, his shipping prices are a bit high.
