It looks very heavy to me too. I see one has red at the pectoral fin base and it and another have red in the nostril areas which could be water quality or bacterial, maybe just photo image too.

Thanks for response. WC 50% everyday, i dont know abt the nostril area. that red color has been there for few months now. water quality is not good because it took the video just after feeding them. air stone is there with full air.

i think if your tank is overstock might also cause heavy breathing

Thanks for the response guys. They breathe like that all the time that is the reason I never bothered. But then on forum i read somewhere about discus fluke and breathing hard, so I thought of asking. I have 8(around 4 inches) discus in 55 gallon tank. They all are doing good, eating like crazy, poops are black in color, they move around in the tank, all the fins are high, no sign of stress, i do see stress getting darker in some of them.

Do you see any other signs of fluke?

Thanks for the reply. I dont see any other sign of fluke, no scratching, erratic swimmming. Just breathing fast. temp is 80 - 82

The water quality I meant was ammonia and nitrite and gh. They do not have to flash or scratch to have gill flukes. the red could be harmless but could also be an indicator of a problem. I've seen discus get that from meds and just before bacterial problems.

Thanks Jimg, I think you got it right. I did dip stick testing(dont know how accurate is this kit) GH 180 and KH 40, nitrate & nitrite close to 0, ph around 7.5, are the GH and KH reading right if not how can i bring it down. Thanks again

Thanks for the response. I looked at the red coloration on one of the discus, it looks like it a red color pattern, since it is a red scribble discus. I have been watching it for few months and nothing major so far.
