tripod will not be much use for moving fish. use a higher iso so you can use a higher shutter speed. the best way is to use an off camera flash above the tank. if your using a point & shoot then shoot from an angle so the flash does'nt reflect back into your lens.

Nice collection. Some of your discus are in focus and others out in the same picture. I do a fair amount of cropping and only keep the discus in focus. Pictures get better with practice and patient. A flash helps too when picture is at an angle to the glass.

Very nice and taking pictures of fish is all about patience. You might get 2 pics out of like 50 that come out good.

Really hard to tell a cobalt from what Stendker calls a brilliant. They are almost the same IMO. Some Cobalts have striations and some brilliants have very little striations.

Have a look on Stendkers website there is quite abit of difference his cobalts are nearly solid with just markings on The head an dorsal

In my working with Stendkers, the blue ones are easiest to tell apart. IME Brilliants and Cobalts are two VERY distinct strains to tell apart. Sometimes the lines are blurred when figuring out a Red Scribblet and Red Turk...Bill

Yes , I would have guessed that yours was a brilliant. (Actually one of my favorite strains.) Some Cobalts though have a lot of striations when juvies, I have had some.

Flachens and Cobalts do have a lot of striations when younger...Bill
