I have 3 red turqs that are about 3-4 mons. The show great colors on the upper and lower fins but are still darkish in the body. Will the color improve as they age?

Strains like the Red/Blue Turks take longer to color up compared to other strains. My Red Scribblets are some of the last ones to color up compared to other fish such as cobalts and brilliants. At 3-4 months your fish are still young and should develop the older they get. Did you see the parent fish?...Bill

if you keep them in good clean water, for another 3 to 4 months you wills see how amazing the colors will get, i have six and they are my most treasured fishes

I also wondered the same when I first got my group of red turks. However, you will see the pattern fill in starting from the front gill plate right to the tail at approx.one year. Really rewarding results in the end.

I agree with the above. My FIRST discus was a RT I bought from LFS at 1.5". He is now 4.5" SL with beautiful color and pattern. One of my favs. Give it time and it will be well worth it.
