I have 6 discus in a 125 gallon. I believe I have a pair now. Two of them have started the love dance. Twitching at each other while defending their corner.

Should I take the other 4 out now? Or wait until they start laying eggs?

What do you all suggest?

Thank you

I would suggest not pulling out the other 4 Discus. If they end up being a true pair, they should spawn and defend eggs.
At that point a 125g would be way to large. Your best bet is to get a 20g or so breeder tank.
This is all depending on if eggs are fertile.
Good luck,

I have a 40 gallon. I was going to use to grow out any possible babies. Should I put the pair in there?

I have another question. Can someone tell me what to look for with a true pair? So they will defend. I am new to getting a pair any advice would be great.

A true pair, should have wrigglers on the cone.

'wriggler's'...small, little fish stuck to the substrate by a spot on their heads...
