Ok so my new tank is up and running with healthy fish from Kenny BUT I want to be prepared just in case 1 or more get sick so I'm wondering what medication should I have on hand just in case someone gets sick? Full names and brands please as I am still mastering discus lingo. Thank you!

Other than Eddie's recommendation, which has a long shelf life, in your situation (on the penninsula, close to lfs), I'd skip trying to stockpile drugs..A dose of expired med's may be worse than what you'd be trying to cure...And healthy fih/tanks don't need much medicating...Gary

So if the worse case scenario comes along i should bump up the temperature and add some table salt?

I also reccomend not buying meds in advance. Hopefully you will not need any. Many people are often tempted to start dumping in meds they have on hand at first sign of trouble. Also, some meds may not be as effective over time. Most of the time good water is the best medicine and specific meds your fish require are pretty quickly available if needed, knock on wood never happens. :)

Not necessarily, it would be best to get some sound advice before moving to treatments. Salt and high temp is a treatment so it's good to know what you are dealing with first.

I agree... I did stockpile medication (... and recently) but they do have a shelf-life.

I'll throw in Epsom Salt to the list of things you can stock up on now...

I try to keep Furan 2, General treatment, and some anti fungus stuff on hand. All API. Oh and Hydrogen peroxide, Epsom salts, and aq salt. Quick clear for eggs not to fungus over.

Hydrogen peroxide is handy to have around the house even if you don't have fish...

I saw on another forum that people use it to kill BBA (black brush algae) by direct application.
