I know I am going to get some debate on what I will write here...Penang eruption and leopard snakeskin are pretty much the same fish...There are sponsors selling Albino Leopard snakeskins in their for sale threads,,these are pretty much the same fish..Though there are variances between different bloodlines of the same strain..As with many other strains too,,you got to love the name game of the discus world..

It happens in reptiles too. Same gene/mutation discovered by different people = different names. Kenny's ALS are very nice although he also sells penang eruptions.

Hi Guys,
Guess the Albino Eruption , is just another alternative name for the Albino LSS., which were
my thoughts also!

I thought the term eruption came from the starburst effect on the dorsal. Do LSS have the same pattern on the dorsal?

The first "Eruption" came from Wayne Ng. He named one of his lines of LSS's "Spotted Eruptions" and it refered to the many small spots all over the body.

Ditto, but there is a difference in types of percentage of offsprings from one breeder's Discus then another.

True, especially with spotted lines. You may only get 20% or 30% quality LSS's from one line and 60%+ from another.

Eruptions are a type of LSS with dense patterns but not all LSS are eruptions
