Imo anything less than $100 is junk. I have had many and if you calibrate them put 2 or 3 in the same water you will get 3 way different readings. I've bought the Milwaukee $22.00 ph pens and were not worth the postage!
I had a hanna $350. meter which was excellent but too expensive.
I now use ec with a hanna ec/tds temp meter if I want to check ph I either use api liquid or one of several Milwaukee controllers/hand helds I have(which all read different!). I think if I had to buy a new one I would go with this.... http://www.eseasongear.com/mimwsmphme1.html.
many I'm sure are happy with their meters but very few check them against each other as I do. just something that bugs me if a meter is off!

Oakton EcoTestr pH2. I have two. Three point calibration. Waterproff. You can get them new at Amazon for less than 60usd. Separate calibration solutions should be purchased and those have different lifetime. One of them, I believe it's pH4.01, has a shell life of 1 year only. All should be stored at or below 25C (I place mine in a cool area of my refrigerator door). Error of measurement 0.1.
