Will my fish grow more??

I got a PB from the LFS 8 month ago he was 2.5" and a bit skinny. Now he is 5" from tip of his nose to the tip of his tail fin. Does he still have room to grow? If I do everything right? Maybe get to 6"?

could b , for some reason discus that i bought in the past from lfs never grew over 6 inch , what do u feed him ,good job on raising him btw

Thanks. He gets everything from tetra color bits, beefheart mix, bloodworms, algea waffers, and flakes. Beefheart mix is the main food others are snacks during the day. His name is disco Stue and is my fav. He let's me pet him.

to me being concerned most over shape and eyesize etc..comes first over size, unless of course you can't get the bugger past 3 inches, well then that throws a wrench in my own thought process as discus should be at least a min. size...just my own personal thoughts on it

I know the bars are weird. I think he is a cross not a true pb. They don't come and go with mood like my other discus with bars. His are always there just like that very light.

Yes, the age can be gauged by the 8 months+possible time before the 8 months and by the look of the fish.

He was from the lfs and not very happy. So kind of a rescue I guess. He never was as bad off as one of my other rescues. This guy turned out better then I thought he would.

From what I have read at 2.5-3" they are 3 months old. I have had him 8 months so that makes him about a 11month old. So he might have one more month to grow? Then a few more months to beef up more. Does that sound right? Maybe get to 5.5"?

max could grow just 0,5" cause to old for it, he/she might be will get better in color, 0 - 10 months wc is very important second gen :)

Wow! I'm surprised he lived. Good job! In this picture, the little guy looks to have some serious ammonia burn. Look at all the discoloration around the gill area. I don't think he'll ever see 6" either, having been so damaged in the past.

Thanks guys . Well the other fish that were shipped to the store with him did not make it. They died at the store the day after being shipped:( . He was the only one that looked ok. I have been keeping fish for 15 years now. I have saved a few rescues fish with HITH, ich, and other stuff. So I thought how hard could a little discus be. Now I am hooked on them. Thanks again guys. I don't think he will get much larger. It's ok I still think he looks good for what he is.

I just got some new fish from Hans to see how well I can grow out better quality fish.
