I have seen a few people recommend one or the other. i wanted to see what the general consensus was around here and why you think so.

+1.
SAFE is good for LOTS of Volume on your WC.. with my 3 tanks.. i do it gallon at a time.. so i still use prime.. maybe not when i set up 125g and get pump for wc.. :)

So you only do 1 gallon water changes?
So you only do 1 gallon water changes?
yes...at a time... then i REPEAT.. SEVERAL MORE TIMES.. until i get about 30% or more.. 5 gallons of water don't fit very well in a 1 gallon jug ;)

Dude go get a 5 gallon bucket from Home Depot or Lowes and make your life a little easier. There is nothing wrong with using safe with 30% water changes. Just add the safe straight to the tank before you start to fill back up.
i have 6 - 5g buckets.. but i see problems with pouring the water in the tank.. and i don't have pump.. i am sure it works well.. but i have wood floors in my apartment.. gallon at a time takes about 30 min for 3 tanks.. PLUS!! the sink fixture in bathroom is like metric.. and kitchen fixture won't allow hose.. its more like a spray nozzle :(

or you could do like me and get a cheap home depot pond pump and a few feet of rubber hose. Spent maybe 30-40 bucks on that one.

I see. When you buy that pump you will love this hobby so much more. lol
If you dont age you dont have to spend money on a pump. you can just buy an adapter for your shower head and run some tubing straight into the tank.

+1 on the SAFE. I have 5 tanks and Prime wouldn't last very long.

Good to know, i had heard prime was better with chloramines. But if there is really no difference i would not mind the change. I will have to read up on it. I am getting ready to make an order. Will be worth it to save some money. I use this in my 2500 gallon pond too so would be nice to pinch some pennies.

Thanks the link. A container that large would probably last me months on 1 75 gallon tank.
