Just sharing.

Got this Swan Marine/Camper hose for water changes.

why....USDA approved drinking water safe.

* Made from medical grade vinyl
* Perfect for potable water
* Nickel-plated couplings

since most garden hoses contain at least some trace quantity of lead due to the use of recycled plastic and the typical brass fittings. The quantity will vary depending on the plastic.

Only treating my fish better.

Yep it would take a long long time and probably a lot higher temps for brass to become unsafe to our discus in fresh water.

Reading this thread got me thinking about my water. I went online and bought a 2 stage filter that is made for RV's. It has garden hose fittings and takes standard 10" filters: http://www.rvwaterfilterstore.com/WCStandardCanisters.htm

I also bought a water safe RV/Marind hose from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BGJXDS/ref=ord_cart_shr?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER

I was thinking of going whole home filtration, but I am concerned that the water pressure will be affected by the filter. We already have an RO unit for drinking and and another water filter by the kitchen sink, plus a water softener...
