Hello friends,

I hate to do this but my job leaves me with no choice. I have 2 pair of wonderful discus I need to sell. First pair is my awesome Blue Diamonds from Hans. They are about 7 inches in size $450.00. My second pair are Red Melons for $325.00. The Red Melons are still young maybe 1 1/2 old. Both pairs are healthy as can be. I am feeding them Al's freezed dried black worms, Hakari frozen blood worms and beefheart mix.

Water parameters are 85 degrees, 80/20 RO/Tap, TDS around 90, ph at 6.5.

This is for local pickup only as I just can't ship at this time.

Let me know if you are interested.

Sorry friends, the offers came in extremely low for these awesome pairs. Still available. I will sell them separate but please don't think I am giving them away.

Bump. Will consider a partial trade for a 65 gallon (36" length) aquarium and a sump/refugium.

One batch from that BD pair would pay for them 5 times over no problem. Good luck Jeff.

Blue Diamond pair still available so I will reduce the price to $400.00 firm. Please no more low ballers. If you seen this pair you would understand why.

You had them both in the same breeding tank? How did that work out? Or is there an "invisible barrier" that I can't see from the picture? Nice looking pair but I can't drive to Chicago nor convince my wife on spending $200 per fish :(

Come on Eric, tell her its a trip that will change your fish tank.

Jeff-Jeff-jeff,
Why is this pair not sold yet.
Lets see...I'll tell the wife I'm going to the store to buy milk and I'll be back in 20 hours.
Wish I was closer my friend...I know quality when I see it.
Would make a great birthday gift.

I will hold them for you Ralph, see you in 20 hours. Lol

I have no idea why this pair is not sold, maybe the discus world has too many Blue Diamonds?

I will try and get some picks up this evening, sorry, was a way for a couple days.

Thanks Keith for the information. I will read the threads.

As far as spawns go, they are egg laying machines but no fry as of yet, just a wiggler stage once and then gone.

Thank you all for the compliments of the Blue Diamonds, they are beautiful fish.

I have been looking into shipping and I think I would rather not risk the health of these fish to try and ship them until I can be 100% certain of what I am doing. The fish deserve that.

If I can't sell them locally I will just keep them until I can spend more time looking into the shipping aspects. I have have read some threads, and will work on it.

Thanks to all 20+ people who have PM'ed me about these fish.

just wondering is it possible for 2 pairs to breed and raise fry together in 95 gal tank w/o either killing or attacking each other and the fry?

Quick question, have the pair raised any fry since?

DiscusLoverJeff
12-14-2011, 11:59 AM
Both pair have bred in the same tank, they guarded their eggs so well thus keeping each pair on separate ends of the tank. The only downfall was even though they guarded the eggs, maybe they felt threatened and ate them after a couple days. But in those regards, they were both young pairs who just needed time.

the same thing happened in my 95 gal planted tank, I had 3 pairs laying eggs at the same time and each pair guarded their eggs until fry attached, but there it could have been other factors that threatened them like other fish and other discus that did not pair off eating what they just assumed was food.

Both pairs were sold and the reds I know the guy was very happy with and successful after a few attempts.
