I got six ~3in discus from Kenny's January shipment, and have what *I hope* will be a simple question... theoretically how much should they have grown since I got them? I haven't really found any good timelines of growth in the juvie/sub-adult stage. Thanks in advance!

1/2 inch per month would be reasonable

They've grown about an inch (there's one who's not growing near as quickly as the others, and one's who growing faster)...

And I do a 50/60% wc every day...

But they only get fed one/two times a day

That's pretty good with 2 feedings a day...

Yea, unfortunately I work all day so they really only get one quick one in the morning, and alot of food at night... but on the weekends they get fed two/three times a day :)

I feed my juvies 5x a day to get them to grow out. Nice job on your part.

I really wish I could feed them that many times a day, they're gorgeous fish, and I really want them to grow up to their potential, and I thought about getting an automatic feeder to do multiple times a day, but they won't eat flake... :(

Train them to eat Ocean Nutrition Formula One Pellets. 3x per day and you should be good to go

What are you feeding them? My fish get a healthy dose of flake/pellets a day, probably the most nutritious food we can offer them other than a good BH/Seafood mix. They will also benefit if they ever needed medicated food.

The only way I've "conned" my fish into eating flake is to mix it with their beefheart. They're currently eating: beefheart mix with salmon, flakes, and pro-grow; frozen bloodworms; live blackworms; and frozen brine shrimp.

I'm not really familiar with Ocean nutrition pellets, but yes, I know I need to get them eating some other stuff.

You're on the right track with the wcs - if you could feed them 5-6 X a day, you may get even better results.
When you get home in the late afternoon, try feeding them every hour or so, till lights out, just what they can consume in 2-3 minutes. Otherwise, the diet you're giving them is very good.

auto feeder?

I didn't feed them the last two days (not home) and they're now eating flakes again. I feed my guys 3-6 times a day (small meals and depending on if my wife remembers/cares to).
