Hard to believe, It'll be 9 years This April. I'm a few days early with this, but the Longer Ryan and I run this forum, the more amazed I am at how its grown over the years, and how much time has gone by.....9 years. ...thats an amazing amount of time for a web forum these days.. they generally come and go. I just wanted to post it now...give the old girl a few more well deserved days in the lime light. :)

Theres been times over the years when I wondered why do this ? why keep this going? It ain't always peaches and cream, I'll tell you that much! I honestly don't know some days.. Could be nothing more than insanity! But I guess its pride...Pride in this forum, moderators,community, and sponsors. Its also the knowledge that I know what this forum accomplishes day in and day out in the hobby. Pride in what we have built here and the knowledge that this forum is positive force in our hobby. Pride and a passion for this crazy flat fish we all love.

Maybe I am wrong and theres nothing overly special about this forum....But alls I know is for 9 years its been my home, an extension of my family and friends, its been my cross to bear, and one of my achievements I'll look back on for the rest of my life and cherish.

So Thank you SimplyDiscus for all the memories and all you have done in so many way..

Well, I have never said happy b-day to a forum. But I do want to say what an invaluable resource this is becoming to me and to thank Al, the mods and all the members for being there for all of us and I am making some friends here. :grin: Like this place.

It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to keep such a forum going and for that I would like to thank all the Admins, mods, sponsors and members for starting and maintaining one of the best forum I've ever belong to. There is no doubt the hobby is at a higher level because of this forum.

The last thing I like to comment on is just how nice and helpful this community has been. Yes it does get hairy at times but like any happy family, there will always be disagreements and conflicts but it always works out at the end.

So again, Happy Birthday Simply and many more to come....

It's hard to believe that we've been around this long. Throughout all the growing pains, the hacking, the server crashes and moves... and yet, here we are. I'd like to think it has helped advance the discus hobby. I'm amazed at how many people I meet IRL at pet stores and such who say, "Oh yeah, I've been to that website!"
