how 0ld are my fish

i have just gotten two red marbro's from the petstore are about 3.5 inches long just wondering how old they might be thanks steven

Could be 5 months (the bright side)..Could be a year and a half (the LFS darkside)..Unless someone has their hatch date info, it's all just a guess....

Age is very difficult to tell based on size of the fish. As mentioned above, it could be a stunted 12 month old fish at 3.5".

From what I have finally learned through this forum, the eye size can tell you if the fish is still young at 3.5". For me to understand it it took me buying 5 more young fish that were only 2.5" with an eye the size of a BB. Well they have now grown past my two older fish with larger eyes around 3.5" and their eyes have really not changed too much. Put up a picture and you'll get more information.
