My Pair of Albino Leopard Snakeskins with fry!!! [Archive]

Think I got these Albino's down now:D!!! These guys are 5days now, about 60 not a big spawn the female ate a bunch of good eggs trying to get the bad eggs, but thats fine got the other batch of Albinos on the father almost 2 weeks now so plenty to keep me busy:)!!! This is a pair of A grade ALSS from Kenny's Discus, you really have to look good to see the fry they blend in with parents.

you have very nice fish there. May i know size for this pair? i have 6 albino spot but i find they not much growing after 4.5 to 5 inch, is it normal?

Hi thanks for the comment on my pair!!! The male is just over 5" and the female is about 5.5", I do have a couple that are 6", but most are between 5 to 5.5". First what is the age of the fish, may still be growing!!! I can tell you one thing for a fact most Albino's do tend to grow a little slower. For me I like them to be a little bigger, but a 5" Albino is fine with me!!!

Well than they are probably around a year old, may grow a little more!!!

Same here Larry. Never seem to see "giant" albinos. Most of mine are 5.5-6. Have only one that's at the 6 inch mark.

Here is updated pictures of my ALSS pair!!! The fry are eating allot of bbs but plan to leave them with the parents untill 3 weeks still I have had no culls with this pair so far, but we will see how they look in another couple weeks. May not look like it but 35 to 40 fry not a big spawn, I plan to cover the eggs next spawn so they don't eat most of them!!!

Thanks Pat these 2 are my favorite out of all my fish, they didn't pair off either I just put them togather and they get along better than my pairs that paired off in the main tank!!! I have force paired before and got them to spawn but then they would just fight. It is amazing how fast fry grow at this age!!!

Here is an update on my ALSS spawn, really coming along nice!!! These guys are now 5weeks pulled them off the parents a little after 3 weeks, eating allot of Beefheart, tetra color bits, and some other flake foods. I have culled some but still must be at least 35 left, as of right now looks like over 90 percent are 14 bar. Sorry for the long awaited update!!!

I do a 100% water change in the morning and at night, and clean the wipe down the glass at least once a day!!!

Thanks Wendy, I am putting everything I have into these guys!!! I will have plenty more in the future my pair is going every week just waiting for these guys to go than I will start another batch. There is a really high demand and these guys are all presold, but they are going to some really good members here and I am sure they will update them. I really want to keep some but with if I want to keep breeding would make it really hard:(!!!

They are now 8 weeks very thick and very health these are the finale pictures, the guys in this tank are off to Honolulu to Julian, David, and Joie!!! I plan to let this pair breed again soon if anyone is interested let me know the first 2 batches of fry were all presold before they even hit 4weeks and as you can see from the pictures I do my best and only sell the best fry. I am also getting some better rates on shipping now!!! I want to thank everyone for their support and nice comments.

Wow Larry, excellent job on these guys. How big are they now, like 2.5/3 inches? I see they are all presold. Not surprised. Five WCs a day. Are you giving yourself a break before starting on the next batch.

Thank you very much Pat!!! They are 2.25 to 2.5 inches that is above averge growth for non Albino's. Not 5 WCs a day, Kenny was joking about that LOL, I do 2 100% water changes a day. Yes I am going to be taking a break for a couple weeks I had both those batches going at once sold the first batch and now these guys will be going, it will be nice to just sit back and not have to worry about doing water changes twice a day and feed almost non stop!!!

Thanks for the kind comments, I am so happy you guys all like the fry, David said the same they are not shy at all swimming all over and looking for food. I may go a little overboard with 3 bags for each fry but better to be safe than sorry, plus that is a long trip for them from Jacksonville, FL to Honolulu HI. Hi Chad he just got the fish today and just not good to feed them after a long plane ride. I do the same thing no food for the first 24hours Kenny always tells me that, and I didn't follow it one time and one fish got bloated, tried everything but lost him. I don't know what it is something to do with the plane ride.

Just wanted to say thanks for all the effort and time you put into raising these beauties for us! As Julian and David have already stated, they are really active and are looking for food at the moment. I will wait until tomorrow though...don't want to take any chances! Way to go Larry!

Thanks Joie, I am happy you guys all like them, like I told more than a month ago when you preordered them I won't send out anything but the best. This is just a hobby for me, but if I do something I do my best, I don't want anyone to go through what I went through the first time I got discus from a bad source it was not here on SimplyDiscus. I Paid way to much and was putting all my effort into them but they never grew much, they did not have the proper care before I got them, but I ordered them from what I thought was a good source and soon found out they were not!!!
Here on SimplyDiscus if a Sponsors does not put out good fish they won't last long, Al and the members here won't allow it. Now Hobbyist breeders can sell bad fry but same thing won't do it long, that is why the itrader system is in place so you can leave good or bad feedback.
But thanks again and it has been 24 hours since they landed there in Honolulu so you can feed them, I know they are starving LOL!!!
