Anyone catch the new episode of River Monster yesterday?

"Jeremy Wade explains how to catch a red-bellied pacu, a relative of the piranha with huge chompers and a taste for nuts"

A good reminder of not messing with nature.

Pacu are awesome. Their teeth are a little freaky though. They look too much like human teeth!

How about discus that adapted to eating beefheart, flake food, and pelets!? :) Nature is much smarter then we are!

I saw it. What makes you think is that he is speculating that they changed from vegetarian to meat eater because all the vegetation in that lake was gone because they ate it all. He then goes on to speculate about this happening in other areas such as many states here where they have over run the native populations of fish. So meat eating pacus in a river near you......................

Well the show is called River Monsters! I find it entertaining and with an overall very good conservation message to not mess with nature or it messes you back!
Sometimes a little added exageration helps get the point across.

Larry,

My friend has 2-3 pacu that are 24"+ and their diet. Pig hearts. I don't doubt that if they are put in rivers, they will just eat up whatever is in their way.

Rod: I agree that Jeremy does exagerate things a bit. I love the show cause he himself seems like a spooky character fit for the job.

Really? Why do you think I said they look like human teeth? It's not that hard to find proof, and no secret what Pacu teeth look like:

Funny you said Dolphins. On the River Monster episode on Pirahna, dolphins are pirahna killer.
