I sent ten Stealth and Stealth Pro heaters to Marineland for replacement three weeks ago last Friday and they have gone missing. No, I didn't pay extra so USPS could track the package. :embarassed: I called Marineland last week and again today, and they told me today they are sending me ten Visitherm heaters! I am really surprised. They have record of me returning heaters twice before, but there is no record of me having sent these ten. How 'bout that!

Good luck with the claim, and let us know how it goes. I'll also be filing a claim with them for dead discus. Pm me if you don't mind sharing the details.

I took the refund offer and they were very quick about sending the check. Incidentally, a letter came a week ago from them telling about the voluntary recall. Personally I think that they have been very responsible in recalling these heaters and issuing refunds or replacement. Most companies would have left people hanging after the warranty period was over, or give you a hard time about receipts and so forth. jmtc

The chances of collecting anything other than replacement heaters is pretty much non-existent, unless it turns into a deal big enough to become a class action lawsuit. Warranties, recalls, and customer service seem peachy and all, until we realize that wouldn't be necessary if they'd sold a quality product in the first place.

I've been happy to pay a little more for Jagers- yeh, their customer service is supposedly miserable, but I haven't needed it, so it doesn't matter.

Well for me they did pay me in full for my loss, it did take almost two months but they did pay me.

i had one that just burst open. I call them and they sent one out without requiring the return of the defect. I was simply amaze by their customer service. Then later, I found out they had a recall, that's why.

I call them again when one of my 200watt was on the list, they're sending an equivalent out right now, so we'll see.

I was surprised myself at how quickly they sent out replacements. Got them in under a week, and they didn't want me to even send back the old ones. Customer service like that easily makes me want to buy there products again. We shall see how these Visitherm heaters hold up against my Jagers. So far there very accurate, and fairly easy to camouflage-save for the big red dial on top! Don't manufacturers know these are going in fish tanks. and that we don't really need nor want a highly visible adjustment dial? OMG I can't find my heater! lol ;)

When did this recall happen? I use visitherm heaters and been very happy with them until recently. I had a 150 w heater in my discus tank. Went away for 3 days in Jan. Came back and 5 dead discus and an exploded heater. Also, I have noticed lately that condensation builds upin the heaters. I think I;ve beaten this by applying silicone around the top.

Fed X just picked up 8 Stealth heaters which I called about on the recall as planned. So far so good. The Pet Group sent the recall tag and picked up as promised. Now just have to see how long it takes to receive the check.
