Eheim pro 80g
Fluval m300 heater
1/6 hp 1000gph pump and 30 ft. hose for easy wc :) No five gallon buckets here :)
Also will be running 6 stage RO/DI

are you breeding or doing wilds? I know for domestics (and others have said same for wilds) that you don't need RO filter unless you're breeding.

I will be doing wilds but my problem is that this wonderful water has ph of 8 to start. I will try running through water softener but man discus buffer just wont cut it for ph.. I was going to try and use ro/di for its benefits and ph of course.

Sometimes they're related and can affect each other, but water hardness and PH are two different things.

I understand this but the water softener is not to get softer water lol, I'm using it because when it was hooked up before ph was at like 7.2 to start not 8. Its disconnected now, pointless to do ro/di and ws?
