I have never before seen discus jewelry and I just happened upon some little guys web site and saw the cutest discus earrings!!! Hahaha! People may think I'm nuts for wearing fish on my ears, but I'm totally buying a pair and I'll rock em ;) just wanted to share this rare find. Hope it's okay to link to this guy.... Those are awesome! I'm allergic to gold (well, to the impurities in it) so it's always a thrill to find someone who uses surgical steel findings on their jewelry. Totally buying these tomorrow morning along with a set of the Cory earrings.

Turns out this guy can make anything you want. I'M totally going to send him a picture of my fish so he can custom make a pair of earrings for me of MY fish! Lol AND he makes key chains and other stuff. I think I'll order a bunch of key chains and give them away at the next Southwest Discus Association meeting :) :) :)

The guy is super nice to work with. He's putting together a variety of different key chains for me using several pictures I provided him... A Blue Scorp, a PB..... I think a key chain would be cool as well and i think a lot of us discus nuts would probably like em.

I'll post on here when he gets the key chains sorted out... I sent him a few different examples of the different strains he could make so we'll see what he does. :) I'm sure there's probably lots of us on here that would dig a discus key chain! :)

Melissa, I would be most interested in a necklace pendant if he could make one that is about 1" or a bit bigger. No chain, just the pendant. This may be the start of a little discus jewelry business for him!

For sure huh! He doesn't charge for shipping either it looks like. If you dig the brown discus he has as the set of earrings... He could do a key chain of that one no problem right now, or you can wait to see what he comes up with for some other strains. What an awesome idea huh!

So -- I bought a pair of these for my wife but she won't wear them. For the price and free shipping, I'm happy with what I got but it's not exactly what I expected. Basically it looks like he cuts out the shape from a piece of special clear plastic and then somehow puts the image on it. Then I guess they are coated with a sealant. I can't imagine how difficult it must be to do that detailed cut out on such a small piece. My eyes are definitely not good enough! But it kind of looks like a flat piece of plastic with a decal on it. I think they're OK but apparently I know nothing of fashion....

It's a cut out piece of plastic with a decal on it. The edges aren't tapered down like a fish they are flat. Can't beat it for $8.50 and no shipping.

There's a really good description of what exactly they are and how they are constructed. I haven't received mine yet but I read that before buying em. I know it's more novelty jewelry than fashion :P
Anyone else get theirs yet?
