Just curious as I am seeing this more and more now. More people want to keep discus I am noticing but dont want or have room/time for large tanks. They get small tanks; smallest ive read about is 20gal and the average is in the 30's. They keep 1 or 2 discus in the tank sometimes 3. In their threads they state that they are not intrested in having them grow out to their max size and having a 3.5-5 inch max discus is good enough.
What do you say for people with these thoughts.

Most 3.5 or even 4 inch fish will never develop their true potential in color and shape. The only time I can think of this ever not being true is if truly round or high body 3.5 - 4" solid colored discus are purchased (Blue Diamond or White Diamond come to mind) but yellows and reds need to get bigger to show true color.
