neons arn't going to work with discus temps. Better to go with Cardinals, but i have heard people having their cardinals be expensive snacks. Some people have it work, some don't. So its you to decide. You can get bigger tetras like rummynose.

well you already have 8 discus thats "Stocked" for ur tank. . .. . Unless you have really good filtration then you could probably add a couple fish otherwise you are pretty much stocked. 10 gal per 1 adult discus

I wonder how many members really stick to the 10G per discus rule. I know I'm pushing it in some of my tanks.

Yea - I agree - I just had a couple of discus pair off and was going to move them to 20 gal. breeding tank and thought I would add a small school of tetra's to my 75 gal. for a better display

I have in my 120G 11 adults and 30 Cardinals. It does add to the appeal of the tank IMO.

I have 25 lemon tetras with 8 adult wilds in a 120 gal. too big for the discus and they are always together.

I admire your discipline not overstocking your tank. I had up to 15 adults at one point.

Any thoughts on using Congo Tetras?

I would say if they can tolerate the temperature then they should be fine.

Anybody had any problems with disease from adding tetras to your discus tank?

How about a good source to purchase high quality tetras?

I haven't had any tetras since I had a angel tank ten years ago

go with SNOOKN21 (John). Bought 60 cardinals and 15 cories from him and mine are still doing GREAT. Hes a sponsor here, you could also find him on aquabid or just email him. Snookn21@yahoo.com

I've had a school of congos with my discus, but they don't do well at high temp. If you keep your tank at around 82, they may be fine, but at around 86, they don't. If you have more than 12, they school really well and I loved having them.
